April 13th, 2013
With Clarence Page, Nanny Vonnegut, James Alexander Thom, and More...
Join us for a night of celebration at the 4th annual "Night of Vonnegut" fundraiser for the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library. Hosted each year by broadcast journalist and political reporter Jim Shella, this year's event will be quite festive.
Enjoy a keynote address by Clarence Page, Pulitzer-Prize winning columnist Chicago Tribune and author of Showing My Color: Impolite Essays on Race and Identity .
And if you haven't been introduced to Kurt Vonnegut's daughter, Nanette (Nanny), boy, you are in for a treat. Nanny will present the Kurt Vonnegut Writing Award and the Jane Cox Vonnegut Writing Award to two Shortridge High School students.
Vonnegut's friend and award-winning writer James Alexander Thom, author of Follow the River and Panther in the Sky, will also share his insights on the life of Kurt Vonnegut.
Don't miss this opportunity to enrich your life by helping out the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library!
(Please note that due to the venue's theatre-style seating, dinner will not be served at this event.)
