The Data Warehouse Training Academy (DWTA) is a HUD effort to increase the knowledge and prevalence of functional data warehouse environments throughout the country. The DWTA has been holding regular meetings with selected states (MD, MO, NY, OH, and TX) since 2012.
The Data Warehouse Training Academy Institute will be a full day interactive training held the day before the NHSDC Spring 2014 Conference on April 30, 2014. The institute is designed to address all knowledge levels of data warehouse implementation from beginner to expert.
The Data Warehouse Institute will be broken into two sessions: the morning and the afternoon. The morning session will present “An Introduction to Data Warehouse Components”, which will provide all participants (regardless of knowledge level) with a foundational understanding of data warehouse planning and implementation. This session will include a visioning activity focused on assisting participants with understanding the potential of a data warehouse within their own communities. The second half of the morning session will be presentations by the DWTA participant states (MD, MO, NY, OH, and TX) including the challenges, successes and failures of each project.
The afternoon session builds upon the foundational knowledge and visioning activity from the morning. With the support of DWTA participant state subject matter experts and the DTWA faculty, participants will participate in an in-depth data warehouse visioning process. Consisting of hands-on and peer-to-peer guided activities on data warehouse model design and implementation, the afternoon session will cover identifying data warehousing assets, potential barriers and solutions. Each community is expected to leave the institute with actionable plans for the implementation of a data warehouse.
Snacks, Coffee & Tea will be provided. Lunch will be on your own for the day of the institute.
Cancellations for the institute must be received ten days prior to event for a full refund.
