What is this event supporting?
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is a world class sports organization that provides opportunities for athletes in the most exciting Olympic action sports. Developed to prepare U.S. athletes for national and international competition, the USSA provides structure for competitive skiing and snowboarding. From grassroots programs to governance of sport, management of rules, competitions and athletic rankings, the USSA oversees athletic pipelines for development in the sports. With a vision to make the USA the best in the world in Olympic skiing and snowboarding, the USSA provides leadership and direction for tens of thousands of young skiers and snowboarders who share an Olympic dream while maintaining a strong adherence to core values.
USSA athletes broke records in 2010 when they won an unprecedented 21 medals in the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. While the next Winter Olympics isn’t until 2014, now is a crucial time to raise awareness and funds to ensure our athletes are fully prepared to represent the USA in Sochi, Russia.
Unlike its competitor nations worldwide, the USSA’s athletes do not receive any Federal funding. The USSA’s athletes and programs are funded solely by the generosity of the public with a mix of private contributions (34%), corporate sponsorship (35%), membership fees (11%), Olympic Committee grants (9%) and endowment earnings (11%). The USSA represents more sports than any other Olympic sports organization, accounting for nearly 50% of the events in the Olympic Winter Games. Learn more.

U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation raises funds to support the elite athletes in all disciplines of the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing, the only teams on the international circuit that receive no federal funding. The Foundation is looking not only to support the year-round training, development, competition and educational needs of current athletes, but also to plan for the next generation of skiers and snowboarders watching at home and dreaming of the time they will stand on the podium to represent the United States.
