Vi & Paul Loo Student Center (Clarence T.C. Ching Hall) - Students must check-in either Thursday or Friday. Check-in for updated information on the orientation schedule and finalize RSVP’s for specific orientation events. Take this time to make sure your state & university health requirements are completed, receive an updated copy of your course schedule, and take your student ID photo. Format is drop-in with no planned program. Continental breakfast will be provided. Campus tours are also available upon request. See any Orientation Leader for assistance.

Expanding Horizons - Thursday 1pm-2:30pm
NEW STUDENTS ONLY. Clarence T.C. Ching Conference Center, Eiben Hall, 2nd floor - Here at Chaminade, we live in a diverse community with cultures from around the world. This interactive program explores the diversity of the Chaminade community and effective ways of adapting to it. (New students only, please)

Living Local - Thursday, 3pm-4pm
Clarence T.C. Ching Conference Center, Eiben Hall, 2nd floor - First time in Hawai‘i? Join Chaminade staff and community members who will help to introduce you to life here in Honolulu and the State of Hawai‘i. This session is designed as an overview of local customs, safety, and how to “Live Aloha”. Be sure to bring your questions.

Silversword Cafe, located in Tredtin Hall - Kick back and unwind with a meal in a casual setting. ‘Ohana are invited to dine with the Director of Residential Life who will be available to provide additional information about our campus housing program and answer any questions.

Movie on the Lawn - Thursday, 7pm
Featuring "Pitch Perfect". Front of Sullivan Family Library - New students and ‘ohana are invited to relax and enjoy an evening under the stars. Rain location will be the Clarence T.C. Ching Conference Center, Eiben Hall, 2nd floor.

Front of Sullivan Family Library - Enjoy some ono grinds (good food) and music! Featuring one of Hawai‘i’s hottest bands, MānoaDNA. Student and two members are free. RSVP and payment for up to 2 additional guests required ($25 per person). Please contact Student Support Services, (808) 735-4724, for more information.

Mystery Bus Trip - Saturday, 8:30am-5:30pm
We're sorry, but this event is already at capacity! If a ticket becomes available, you will be contacted automatically with further instructions on how to obtain your ticket. No further action is required. For further clarification, or if you have questions, please contact Student Support Services. Mahalo! NEW STUDENTS ONLY. Meet in front of Clarence T.C. Ching Hall (New Students only, please) - Take a scenic drive and explore some favorite spots on the island of O‘ahu. Immerse yourself in this day-long adventure and discover the enchantment that awaits you! A part of the mystery is to be prepared, so bring a towel, extra clothes, your swimsuit, and your slippers/flip-flops. Snacks and lunch provided. We will return to campus in time for dinner at the Silversword Café. Buses will depart at 8:30am sharp.

Diamond Head Hike - Sunday, 7:15am -9:30am
Meet in front of Clarence T.C. Ching Hall -New students and ‘ohana welcome. Take the challenge to reach the top, and see the spectacular view of Honolulu, Waikiki, and the Ko‘olau mountains. Paths are well defined and open for any level of experience. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and a water bottle.

The Chaminade University Office of Student Support Services and New Student Programs invite new students and their ‘ohana (families) to attend the fall 2013 New Student Orientation events and activities. Please note that all of Friday's events are mandatory. Event schedules and descriptions can be found on the orientation website at  http://www.chaminade.edu/student_life/nso/ This schedule is subject to change. Please refer to any updates when checking in for New Student Orientation.

 

It is not necessary to print your event tickets. Your email confirmation will be sufficient proof of your RSVP.
