The event will also examine how rapid advances in technology serve as a catalyst for economic growth and development, manufacturing innovation, global scale competitiveness, and workforce readiness.
The 2014 New Orleans Science & Technology Event will be a series of panel discussions led by some of the most astute thought leaders in the world – who all happen to be from this region. Participants include Gordon W. Bergstue, of Boeing, Dr. Challa Kumar, Director of Nanofabrication & Nanomaterials at LSU, Rodrick C. Miller, CEO and President, New Orleans Business Alliance, David Doss, LA State Director, Ben Johnson, President of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, John Schneider, Chairman of Springboard Baton Rouge, Dr. Yu Jiang, Director, The Confucius Institute at Xavier University, and others.
This event is open to the general public and especially to professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Textron and the MCC Group are also event sponsors. A limited number of additional corporate event sponsorship opportunities are presently available.
Event activities will culminate with a unique, 5 course dining experience dating back 300 years - meticulously explained (with a technology twist) by the first Spanish Governor of Louisiana, Antonio de Ulloa y de la Torre-Girault! This exciting event will be held at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, 717 Orleans Street; New Orleans, LA 70116. Event tickets are $150 for the Science and Technology Conference and Dinner.
