Join us at Friends Center (15th and Cherry Street) for our event, A New Global Future: Peace Day Philly at Friends Center, in support of the UN World Peace Day! On Saturday, September 21, 2013 we will be holding Exhibitions and Workshops on how we build a new global future of peace at home and around the globe. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. Please choose one morning and one afternoon workshop to attend. 

Schedule of Events:

10:00 AM: Welcome with Michael Gagne, and Lily Yeh: "The Arts, and Peace in Our City"

 

AM Workshops: 10:30 AM- Noon

"The National Security State"; "Voting Rights, from Selma to 2013"; "Communicating for Peace"; "Non-Violent Direct Action- Hands On"

 

Noon: Lunch

1:00 PM: Ann Lesch: "Troubled Political Transitions: A Perspective from Egypt"

 

PM Workshops: 2:00 to 3:30 PM
