Free Workshop for New Beginning Farm/Rancher Development Workshop 2.
Veterans, Active Dutry, Military Spouses and Small Farmers
May 16th from 10am-1pm. Learn about USDA NRCS matching funds, grants, scholarships, and funding available for new beginning veteran farmers and ranchers. Guest speakers from the USDA NRCS, Florida Organic Growers association, Farm Credit, Wealth Watchers, AgriAbility and more will be providing information and resources available to you.
Join us to learn about the 5 steps of Assistance to obtain funding that will pay up to 50% of your cost to build a greenhouse or other farm related projects.
Wealth Watchers will be presenting grant opportunities for housing and teaching about land aquisition. The Veterans Farm will be awarding 40 scholarship, and 20 fellowships for 2015.
Local experienced farmers and ranchers interested in becoming a VF host site will have the opportunity to meet with experts from the Veterans Farm to learn about the benefits of mentoring and training veterans at your farm.

Break out session 10 minutes then guest/veterans will regroup to attend short introductory class presented by local farmer.

When & Where
The Veterans Farm provides horticultural therapy and vocational training through our New beginnng veteran farmer/rancher development program. Our program is offered to military veterans, active duty and military spouses who are interested in a career in agriculture. Our 3 month Fellowship Program offers education and skills training in agro-entreprenurialship. After graduation we provide post mentorship to help connect them to resources that support their new business ventures in farming and ranching.
