Be the very first to enjoy the brand new, 13.5% ABV Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stentorian English Barleywine, with flavors ranging from toffee, rich caramel, and slight molasses with a balanced alcohol warmth on the finish, alongside the new Double Red Wheat "Stonewall Jackson 5," with hints of cherry, clove, and raisin, and a sweet, caramel flavor with a tart finish!

Beer Launch party for Barrel-Aged 13.5% English Barleywine at Valiant at Valiant Brewing Company on Saturday, August 31 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM!

This event is free to attend, pay as you drink.

They'll be serving some outstanding beers, including two barrel-aged beers, imperial IPAs, and tons more!

 

Stentorian English Barleywine

English Barleywine - 13.5% 75 IBUs
Stentorian is a blended barrel-aged beer using Heaven Hill barrels. Stentorian matured in these barrels for nearly 4 months, imparting that classic barrel-aged character and warmth. Because of the richness of Stentorian, blending of the two beers provides those complexities that Valiant wants to be remembered for. Multi-layers of complex malty flavors ranging from toffee, rich caramel, and slight molasses. Slight alcohol warmth is acquired as the beer finishes cleanly, adding to the sensation.

Stonewall Jackson 5 Double Red Wheat

Specialty Beer - 8.7% 50 IBUs
Aroma: Mild sweet cherry with hints of cloves and an every lasting caramel maltyness. Deep raisin and prune combined with an almost herbal but balance aroma. Taste: Malty richness of caramel and lingering sweetness. Bold bitterness which balances out with the increased body. This finish is somewhat dry due to the characteristic of the yeast given a slight tartness.

Jericho

Imperial IPA - 10% 144 IBUs
Lemon and grapefruit zest combined with tropical fruitlike characters. Crisp tropical fruit taste like mango with supporting light malty character. Clean bitterness profile that develops more with time. Semi-sweet finish with an everlasting flavor of hops.

31 Kings

American IPA - 6.5% 75 IBUs
Flowery, herbal with hints of lemon and passion fruit character. Slight caramel malty sweetness combined with an intense yet rolling bitterness profile. Flavors of pine and orange trickle into the aftertaste allowing a clean and refreshing finish.

Mounds of Grounds

Saison - 9.6% 27 IBUs
Mild caramel, bready and toasty flavors. Rich chocolate that fads into slight roasty/charcoal flavors. Low bitterness and ends fairly dry. Try out some spicy meatballs for appetizers or perhaps some Gouda or Gruyere cheese varieties. For a more hearty meal a grilled ribeye steak, lamb chops, Blue cheese crusted hamburger or smoked brisket are all fantastic choices. Mounds of Grounds is a perfect companion to many deserts but we love it with Vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie or tiramisu.

Barrel Aged Octave

Belgian Specialty Ale - 6.4% 37 IBUs
Octave has a slightly herbal aroma that we have combined with vanilla and mild caramel highlights. The malty body on this beer pairs well with spicier cuisine such as Thai, but the bitterness allows it to pair with meat pies, or with a hefty burger. It can pair with English cheeses such as cheddar or Derby, or the tangy styles of Brick, Edam, or Feta. For desert try some pumpkin flan, maple bread pudding, or bananas foster.

Veranda

Belgian and French Ale - 8.5% 30 IBUs
Green peeper, spicy, dry fruits like raisin and plums. Low hop bitterness allows the bountiful mixer of flavors like sweet berries, dates and supporting malt flavor. Fairly dry finish with slight oxidized taste giving more of a rustic flavor.

Axiom

Old Ale - 10.5% 28 IBUs
This beer has a delicious Graham cracker aroma with a slight malty highlight. Cherry combines with raisin, some spiciness and a few alcohol esters. The flavor has a rich caramel sweetness that leads into a diverse mixture of malt characters. There is also a taste of clove with a little herbal hops and a light hotness. In the finish you will find a flicker of warmth and a mildly dry sensation as well as low sweetness and medium mouthfeel.

Tilt Shift Belgian IPA

Belgian Pale Ale - 7.1% 67 IBUs
Aroma: Combination of bubble gum and citrus fruits aroma, pleasantly balanced. Aroma is a perfect blend of tropical fruits. Taste: Clean malty flavor which expresses the hop flavors of sweet spices and pineapple. Refreshing bitterness that pairs nicely throughout the whole tasting experience. Aftertaste leaves the month experiencing the hop threshold experience.

Mighty Maximus

Special/Best/Premium Bitter - 3.6% 56 IBUs
Rounded malt aroma, bready, roasty, and slight caramel sweetness. Robust fullbody mouthfeel tasting of toffee and toasty malt character. Elevated bitterness at the finish completes this beer leaving the taste bigger than perceived.

Hotspur

Dunkelweizen - 5% 17 IBUs
Clove and slight banana, mild chocolate and grainy aroma. Soft, bready and wheat flavor balances with the slight clove taste. Bitterness is low leaving the finish with a slight tart sensation.

Octave

Belgian Pale Ale - 6.4% 37 IBUs
A Dark Belgian Pale: Fresh herbs, a bit of caramel sweetness, and sweet dark berries. There is a toffee and bready flavor as well as earthiness. Sustainable bitterness, clear finish with appropriate lingering body.

Fields Ablaze

Saison - 6.8% 22 IBUs
Tart, lemony, clean malt character thrives with the floral yet spicy aroma. Light malt sweetness and a slight grainy texture. Low bitterness develops flavor profile that allows a crisp refreshing finish.

First Flight

Strong Ale - 13.7% 78 IBUs
Slight herbal aroma combined with light coconut, vanilla and mild caramel high lights. Malty sweetness followed by developing a bready sweet flavor. Hints on complex caramel flavors come across that finishes out with the brut bitterness. After taking a sip, the clean finish allows the alcohol to develop inside your body giving you that warming feeling. Mild carbonation helps provide the pallet with a low mouthfeel thus more flavors.

Pathos

Porter - 9.3% 38 IBUs
Pathos has a slightly burnt malt aroma. Balanced on the sweet side with a massive chocolate profile that has hints of toffee and caramel. Moderate earthy hop aromas help guide the senses to the chocolate experience. The flavor is forward driven by chocolate and minor flavors of burnt, roasty malt characters.
