NEIBA is pleased to announce that we’re holding an all-day session called Careers in Bookselling on April 11th, at the Beacon Press offices in Boston.

This is designed for primarily for FRONTLINE BOOKSELLERS to learn more about how bookstores and publishers are intertwined, but veteran booksellers will still find plenty of new ideas!

Please invite your staff and bring yourselves to what we hope will be another great day of NEIBA education.

10:30 Welcome and Opening Remarks

10:45 – 11:30 The Business of Bookstores: Structure & Finance with Bill Kohli, owner Wellesley Books, Wellesley MA and owner Michael Herrmann, Gibson’s, Concord, NH

11:30 – 12:15 The Business of Publishing; Structure & Fiancee with a panel that will include Tom Hallock, Beacon Press, Associate Publisher, Director of Sales and Marketing

12:15 – 1:45 Networking Lunch catered by Flour Bakery

1:45 – 2:30 Industry Tree: Who Booksellers Work With, How & Why with a panel that will include Dana Brigham, co-owner Brookline Booksmith, Brookline, MA; Annie Philbrick, owner Bank Square Books, Mystic CT, and Savoy Bookstore, Westerly, RI.

2:30 – 3:15 What Bookstore Owners are Looking for in their Booksellers with a panel that will include Courtney Flynn, Trident Booksellers and Café.

3:15 – 4:00 What Publishers are Looking for in their Booksellers with a panel that will include Mike Katz, Sales Representative, PGW/Perseus Books Group; Anne DeCourcey, Sales Representative, HarperCollins.

4:00 – 5:00 Cocktails and Socializing
