Nature Walk: Inspirational Sunset with Walter Moore
Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM (PDT)
Redwood City, CA
Bring a snack/dinner and your favorite beverage up to the highest point of Edgewood County Park and Natural Preserve where you'll have unobstructed views of the sun set and the moon rise. Walter Moore, Executive Director of the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), will be our guest for the event and will speak briefly on the values underlying the preservation of open space on this special full moon evening.
This walk covers approximately 3 miles of trails of moderately sloping terrain. Bring water, a hat, sturdy shoes, and clothing appropriate to the early evening weather. This walk is geared to adults, but capable, attentive children 10 years and older are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Rain or thick cloud cover cancels.
Meet at the Clarkia Trailhead on Canada Road. If you are coming along I-280, exit at Edgewood Road and head west toward the mountains. Turn left at Canada Road and continue under the freeway overpass. Park on the dirt strip on the freeway side of Canada Road just south of the I-280 onramp.
