Join Katherine Greene, Debbi Brusco, and Jack Owicki for a special night at Edgewood County Park and Natural Preserve. We'll meet at 6:30 pm at the Bill and Jean Lane Education Center and wander into the preserve while the sun is still up, pausing to talk about what we see along the way. Bring your favorite dessert to eat on the trail at sunset.
Then we’ll see how the landscape changes after dark. Who knows what interesting night critters we'll encounter? We’ll walk at a leisurely pace for the round trip of about three miles, with a cumulative elevation gain of around 600 feet.
This is the first year that docent-guided night walks have been conducted at Edgewood, so this is an unusual opportunity. Come experience a facet of Edgewood that we don’t normally get in our daily lives, and help the preserve at the same time!
Bring dessert, plastic to sit on, and flashlight with red filter or cellophane covering. This 3-mile walk is geared to adults, but capable, attentive children 10 years and older are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Rain cancels.
Meet at the Bill and Jean Education Center.
