Forestry Project on May 16
- Travel & Outdoor
Heil Ranch is a much loved property north of Boulder but it’s being loved to death. Years of foot, bike and hoof traffic combined with the harsh Colorado weather and the highly erodible soils has made the Ponderosa Loop trail at Heil in desperate need of TLC. And we are partnering with the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance to give it some. We will be using handtools to re-route especially over-used sections of tread to new trail and then closing down the old tread. The goal is to create a more sustainable trail that will stand up to use and mitigate user conflict.
This project will run from 8:00am-1:30pm. Minimum age is 14 with adult supervision. A light breakfast will be provided. After the trail work is done, we will celebrate with a late lunch at an after party sponsored by Oskar Blues.
