Event Details

You are invited to join the sponsors of the 2012 National STEM Video Game Challenge in honoring the next generation of game developers.  Come meet an inspiring group of students from across the country as they showcase their winning entries, talk about their love of video games, and express why competitions like the STEM Challenge are so important.

The event will feature a special appearance by Cristin Dorgelo, Assistant Director for Grand Challenges, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Executive Office of the President, and a keynote from a Sean Vesce, Founder 20after1.

The event will be hosted at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Along with light refreshments, at the conclusion of the event you will have the opportunity to tour the Smithsonian’s "The Art of Video Games" exhibition.

The National STEM Video Game Challenge is a multi-year competition with the goal of motivating interest in STEM learning among America’s youth by tapping into students’ natural passion for playing and making video games. In its second year, more than 4,000 middle, high school and college students as well as educators submitted original video games.
