Plant a new forest at Bellaire Lake Campground!
NEW DATE: Because of the recent catastrophic flooding in northern Colorado, we have CHANGED THE DATE FOR THIS EVENT TO OCTOBER 5th.
Join the Forest Service for this fourth annual event on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District to restore mountain pine beetle ravaged forests west of Fort Collins.
Plant pine tree seedlings and native shrubs alongside professional silviculturists at Bellaire Lake Campground on OCTOBER 5th.The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Live music and a box lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. You will have the option to stay after lunch and continue with any remaining planting.
WHAT TO BRING: Wear long pants, close-toed shoes (NO sandals), sunscreen, and a cap/sunglasses. Bring your daypack with water, snacks and a rain jacket. Lunchtime seating is limited, so you may wish to bring a camp chair.
REGISTER you and your group for either the event PLUS lunch (choose vegetarian or non-vegetarian option) or the event WITHOUT lunch.
Event will be held rain or shine!
GET THERE: Bellaire Lake Campground is about 45 miles northwest of Fort Collins. Take Highway 287 north to Livermore, Colorado. Turn west (left) onto County Road 74E (Red Feather Lakes Road) and drive about 23 miles to the junction of County Road 69. Turn south (left) onto County Road 69 for about three miles to the campground entrance, on the right side of the road. CARPOOL if you can- parking is limited.
