The Natioaal Orgnization of Black Directors is having its first Award Night in collaboration with the Pan African Film Festival. This event is free to all directors that have RSVP'd by February 7, 2013. The reception and award program will start after the screening of the short film "Redeemer" produced by me, which is included in the series 6 block of shorts. However, the screening is not free, the ticket cost of the screening is nine dollars ($9.00).
The NOBD event location has been changed from the Filmmakers Lounge to the Multi-Purpose Room/Community Room, which is on the first floor of the Crenshaw Baldwin Hills Mall.
The National Organization of Black Directors (NOBD) will honor two directors, BILL DUKE, for Outstanding Motion Picture and Television Director and KA'RAMUU KUSH, for Emerging Motion Picture Director. Come out and enjoy the celebration with these two great directors. Also, directors that have directed a feature length movie, documentary, television show or commerical that has been screened at a film festival or aired on television is welcome to become an annual member for the cost ($95.00) and receive a 50% discount on our first Post Editorial Workshop for Directors, scheduled for March 30, 2013. The cost of the Post Editorial Workshop for Directors is ($125.00).
The workshop will held at Moviola Educational Center in Hollywood, California and the speakers will be Lillian Benson, the first African American to be accepted into the American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) and Johnathon Amayo, Co-Founder of NOBD and Sr. Vice President of Production./Post-Production at Moviola.
