Windsor Park, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, will host a free lecture on Aug. 19 that will describe ways in which senior adults can reduce stress and achieve life balance.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature Will Miller, Ph.D. A therapist, instructor at Purdue University and former comedian, Dr. Miller’s presentation will combine groundbreaking research with hilarious comedy. In a program packed with practical advice on achieving equilibrium, he will show how the key to improved quality of life is rooted in our social support network — our real and claimed family.
Miller has five graduate degrees: master’s in clinical social work, Columbia University; master of divinity, Union Theological Seminary; master’s in health psychology, Walden University; and a master’s and doctorate in urban education and studies, University of Massachusetts. He trained in psychoanalysis and completed studies at the Rutgers University School of Addiction Studies. He authored three books, a book chapter and contributions to many publications and news programs. During 16 years as a headline comedian in New York City, Miller toured the country, appeared on countless comedy programs, was the on-air spokesman for the Nick-At-Nite TV network and hosted the NBC program “The Other Side.”
