National Bar Association-Region 6 Conference

The NBA Region 6 Conference is June 13-15 and will be held at the University of Memphis-Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law located at 1 N. Front St., Memmphis, TN. The conference CLE programming will offer 3.0 hours of CLE that will feature topics such as federal legislative updates and civil trial tactics as well as a presentation regarding human trafficking. The Region 6 Conference will also host the MLK Drum Major for Justice Advocacy along with the MetLife lunch on Saturday, June 14th. The conference also includes a number of social events, including a Welcome Reception hosted by Judge Earnestine Hunt-Dorse on Friday, June 13th; Havana Nights Afterparty in downtown Memphis on Friday, June 13th; and a Professional Networking Mixer on Saturday, June 14th. Attendees may also join the National Civil Rights group tour on Saturday, June 14th.
The CLE-Remaking America: 50 Years of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 will be held on June 13th. This is a separate event that is sponsored by the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association, the University of Memphis-Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Office of the U.S. Attorney. The symposium will examine the past, present and future of Title VII from the perspective of community leaders, lawyers and federal judges. The symposium includes a luncheon at the symposium with featured speaker Paulette Brown, President Elect of the American Bar Association. Paulette Brown is the first African-American woman in this position. The symposium will offer 4.5 CLE hours. The conference registration WILL NOT include registration for the symposium.
