When & Where
Ruth Garcia-Corrales is the Regional Manager of NAPW for the West Coast of United States, which includes the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Her specialty is Marketing and Advertising with emphasis in the Hispanic Market. Currently she is developing a crowd funding initiative called: www.Fundraiseforacause.net, which consists of a tool for the community around the Curacao's stores for fundraising. She has develop for the retailer a program for the Kids Areas called "Creative Hub", where kids have a make and take for free every week and a tutoring program "Learn to Read, Read to Learn" for second graders of elementary schools around the stores. All these programs are part of the new department she is putting together in PR & Community Affairs for Curacao. In addition she oversees Curacao Children's Foundation a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization.
Curacao services the Hispanic community in Southern California and in Arizona with 11 mega stores of over 100,000 Sq ft of retail area. The electronics department is the strongest area, you can find all kinds of TVs,Tablets, computers, car stereos to Big, Medium and small appliances, Furniture, Baby Dpt, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. They advertise in all the major Spanish TV and Radio stations, including print media in both markets.
In addition they target consumers through segmentation of mailing lists by direct mailers with catalog and promotions. Curacao is a financial institution that carries it's own paper and has over 1.5 million customers. She has been with Curacao since 1998 until now .
Ruth has been promoted through Curacao in different departments, from the Purchasing and Merchandising Dept. managing departments as Furniture, Linen, Babies, Electronic Games. She was promoted to Cross Marketing Manager, then to Credit Marketing Manager, to Advertising & Marketing Manager and now developing a new department of PR and Community Affairs.
Ruth is the former Consul General of the Republic of Costa Rica for all the West Coast of the United States.
