Join us on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 1 p.m. for the first NAHJ-NYC Barbacoa, a potluck grill-out on the banks of the Hudson River at Inwood Hill Park off Dyckman Street at the top of Manhattan.
If you have never been before, prepare to be surprised by this gem of a New York City public park on the banks of the Hudson River, with a fishing pier, and even a place to launch a kayak.
We'll have a grill and charcoal for you to use to make your grilled masterpiece as well as tableware. We'll be judging your barbecue style with a trophy to the winner! Bring, a chair, and your cooler and join us. Please RSVP for this free event and tell us what you plan to bring to cook.
You can also bring dominos, badminton birdies and racquets, croquet mallets, card games, or horseshoes -- if you got 'em.
This is a great opportunity to join together with your fellow members for a relaxed afternoon in the great outdoors before the national convention in San Antonio (Aug. 7-9). Please join us!
DIRECTIONS -- Take the A train uptown to Dyckman St. Exit the subway and head west across Broadway on Dyckman Street. Pass the cafes and restaurants and go six blocks, crossing under the Henry Hudson Highway overpass toward La Marina restaurant. When you get to the end of the street, go to the right, into the park area where you will see baseball diamonds and, probably, a lot of people. Follow the path and look for our NAHJ NYC banner.
