In his time, composer and pianist Johann Hummel was as famous as Beethoven and a teacher to young Mendelssohn. Nino Rota’s fame comes from his movie scores, yet he is a serious composer of concert works as well. Dvorák’s Piano Quartet bursts with his trademark melodies and earthy energy. Experience performances of these classics at Provenance Vineyards.
The program includes Hummel: Piano Trio op. 12, Rota: Duets for flute and oboe,
Rota: Trio for flute, violin and piano, and Dvorák: Piano Quartet no. 2, op. 87.
