Event Details

The Vineyard at Hershey and The JDK Group are collaborating once again to bring you another exciting pop-up dinner event in the CORK–TO-FORK series: Murder Mystery Night At The Garlic Poet Restaurant & Bar!

Guests of this all-inclusive evening of intrigue will enjoy four courses of delicious culinary creations paired perfectly with locally handcrafted wines created by The Vineyard at Hershey.. but that's not all!

Otter Productions, an improvisational group based in Maryland, is making the trip to perform "PASSWORD FOR A SPEAKEASY," a comical murder mystery set in the roaring 1920s.

The interactive performance takes during the dinner with shocking surprises peppered throughout the evening. Guests will play a vital role in determining which player committed the dastardly deed that will bring one character to their demise. As a bonus, one lucky guest who correctly chooses "who dunnit" will win a gift basket from The Vineyard at Hershey, filled with wine and other fun souvenirs!

To cap off your evening, why not make a night of it at The Clarion Hotel & Conference Center! The hotel, which is adjacent to the restaurant, is offering guests of the event unbelievable value in their "Hotel Package For Two" option!

The "Hotel Package For Two" features:
  • Two tickets to the Murder Mystery dinner & show
  • One night stay at The Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in New Cumberland
  • One complimentary, chilled bottle of wine, courtesy of The Vineyard at Hershey!
  • Complimentary breakfast in The Garlic Poet the next morning!
In addition to all of this, guests of the event will also be among the first to witness the grand re-opening of The Garlic Poet Restaurant & Bar!

This is the first of many events that we will host in collaboration with The Garlic Poet Restaurant & Bar in honor of their month-long launch party. (To learn more about the April launch of The Garlic Poet Restaurant & Bar, visit their Facebook here.)

Join us on April 6th for this all-inclusive, four course meal filled with intrigue & treachery -- you won't want to miss it!

For those who want to play "dress up" for the occasion, we are offering a prize for the guest best dressed in 1920s attire! If you dress in 1920s attire, you will have an additional opportunity to win a wine basket from The Vineyard at Hershey.

"Password For A Speakeasy"
(A Comical 1920's Murder Mystery)

"It is spring, 1922, and the best high rollers in America have gathered for the richest poker game in history right here in a speakeasy…winner take all.

Vices overflow since this “Coffee Club” doesn’t exactly collect sales tax.   Eccentric billionaire Fortune Bonaventure has invited the “who’s who” of the gambling circuit here for one big game (the password to get into the joint is “Swordfish” but “Halibut” will do). If you have to ask how much money you need to play, you can’t afford it.

“Diamond” Jim King has brought his millions, and he’s hoping to continue a lifelong love affair with lady luck. He loves the thrill of gambling someplace that is illegal according to the Volstead Act; after all, he’s made money on Prohibition.  Some wonder how Jackie “the Kneecap” Hart got invited to the big game. Hart was always better as a two-bit hustler and “liquid refreshment entrepreneur” than a legitimate gambler. The widow Flora Flush may also be seen milling about, but the toilet paper heiress seems distraught about something other than finding herself in this environment.

With all of these high rollers and their millions present, security guard Ace Spade is guarding the door but may have a hard time keeping the peace. Will you have fun? You bet!"
