 Plot and Characters:

Unhappy Hour

It started as an evening of good cheer for friends gathered at Dex's Place, a popular neighbourhood pub on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive. The year is 1994. It is an August Saturday night and the crowd has been dancing and romancing for several hours. Suddenly, the lights go out and a gun shot explodes in the dark. Moments later, Dexter Doyle, owner of the bar, is found slumped on the floor, dead from a bullet would to his heart. He has been murdered in cold blood and you are a suspect.

The suspects are:

Phil Muggs - You are the bartender at Dex's Place. You take great pride in mixing cocktails with a certain savoir faire. Your rugged good looks and silver-tongued charm make you a popular attraction for lonely ladies out on the town. Unfortunately, you have developed an ego the size of a beer keg.
Costume Suggestion - You wear dark slacks, black shoes, a ruffled white shirt and a bow tie. Your hair is meticulously groomed. You carry your own 'lucky' shot glass and a pocketful of cocktail napkins with your phone number on the back (for the ladies).

Marlena - (Cast) You are a 'mystery lady' who has spent the past few days sitting in the corner of the bar, obviously waiting for someone or for something to happen. You have a sexy German accent and an aura of secrecy about you. You avoid idle conversation with the other bar patrons. Everyone is curious about you.
Costume Suggestion - You are wearing a long black dress and black high-heels. You have expensive jewelry, including rings and a diamond necklace. You wear a black hat that partially obscures your face and carry a large black handbag. You have a sexy mole on your left cheek.

Willy Krash - (Cast) You are a senior pilot for a large commercial airline. You travel all over the world and enjoy it tremendously. Flying is your life. You are a bachelor living in a luxury condo in the posh Chicago neighbourhood known as the Gold Coast. You like to drop by Dex's Place for a drink or two on your way to the airport.
Costume Suggestion - You wear a pilot's uniform with great pride. On this occasion, it has a small tear above the pocket where you normally have a set of gold pilot's wings pinned. Aviator glasses and an overnight bag complete your wardrobe.

Dolores Delgatto - (Cast) You are a cocktail waitress at Dex's Place. You've had a tough New Jersey upbringing and have been a waitress at numerous bars over the past ten years. You have seen it all and heard come-ons from almost every drunk in town. Nothing surprises you anymore.
Costume Suggestion - You dress for tips. A tight, short skirt and a low cut top that reveals as much cleavage as you've got. You have long dark hair and wear excessive makeup and perfume. A bar tray, dish towel and a pack of chewing gum complete your ensemble.

Marshall Hartz - You own a karate school for kids a few blocks from Dex's Place. You served twenty-one years in the army, including six years as a green beret during the Vietnam War. You are skilled in martial arts including jujitsu, kung-fu, taekwondo and karate. You have tremendous self control over your mind and body... at least until someone pushes you around.
Costume Suggestion - If not wearing white karate gi with a black belt, you like to wear military fatigues and combat boots. The many pockets allow you to carry a variety of self-defense weapons.

Ginny Tonick - (Cast) You are an attractive 'barfly'. You have been coming to Dex's Place every day for the past six months. Your excuse is that you are writing a novel and need frequent breaks. You have a special chair reserved for you at the bar and are familiar with every drink on the cocktail menu.
Costume Suggestion - You wear a long, clinging dress slit up one side to reveal your sexy legs. Your false eyelashes and nails, makeup and a long blond wig make you an instant hit with men at the bar. You are never without your cigarettes and a small notebook for jotting down ideas for your novel.

Extra Guests Include: (non-suspects)

D Pokem (cast)- You are the entertainer in the bar tonight, a country singer. Actually, you are a police officer with the Chicago Police Department working undercover in Dex's Place. The department had received an anonymous tip that something illegal was going down in Dex's Place tonight. You have been here all evening playing the guitar, singing new country songs and watching for suspicious activities.
Costume Suggestion - You wear a western hat, shirt, jeans and boots. You have your own guitar and a few songbooks. That bulge under your left armpit is you service revolver in a hidden shoulder holster.

Dr. Rita Book - (Cast) You are a psychiatrist who specializes in sex therapy. You stopped by Dex's Place tonight for a nightcap on your way home from a late evening therapy session. You arrived just after Dexter Doyle was shot. With your expertise in analyzing criminal deviant behaviour, you have offered to help question the suspects and solve this mystery.
Costume Suggestion - You are wearing an expensive dress, covered with a white lab coat. You have a clipboard and a pen to keep notes.

See you there - it is so much fun, it is almost criminal!
