Update: The Summit will now begin at 9:00 a.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Utah Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts the annual Multicultural Youth Leadership Summit in support of Governor Gary R. Herbert's 66 by 2020 education initiative, a state goal of having 66 percent of all working-age Utahns hold a post-secondary degree or certificate by 2020.
This one-day program brings youth, educators, parents, and community members together in a conference-type setting. The focus is to inspire middle school students to become community leaders and encourage them to reach their educational goals. A majority of students are leaders in their own schools; our intent is to motivate them to continue succeeding in school and enroll into higher education institutions.
Registration opens on Thursday, September 1 and closes on Monday, September 19. Registration is free for students, educators, and community members. A light breakfast and box lunch are provided to all registered attendees. *Please note: The Office of Multicultural Affairs (MCA) implemented changes to this year’s registration.
- The event is for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students.
- A maximum of 100 students can attend per school.
- One adult must accompany every 25 students. (Example: If 60 students attend, two adults must also attend.)
The cost to table is $100. The fee covers a topped and skirted table with seating and lunch tickets for two individuals. If you need to provide payment by check, please contact Jenny Hor (information listed below).
MCA collects student data to determine if the division is reaching a diverse group of students. Participation is voluntary. If parents participate, please fill out the acknowledgement section and answer the questions. If parents do not participate, please only fill out the acknowledgement section. The form can be found here.

How can I register more than 10 students?

Once you register the first 10 students, go back to the Eventbrite registration page to complete the next 10 students and continue to do this until you've registered all students.
What if I cannot attend?
Please contact Rozanna Benally-Sagg at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jenny Hor at email@example.com to cancel your registration.
What if I submitted incorrect information?
Please contact Rozanna Benally-Sagg at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jenny Hor at email@example.com to make changes.
