HDI Motown Gives Back to the Community The national and local chapters of HDI are committed to supporting our communities through charitable contributions. These contributions vary in type and include volunteer time to local organizations, monetary donations, and donations of goods and services. As part of our community commitment for this year, the HDI Motown chapter will hold a food drive in conjunction with the November and December meeting. All food collected will be donated to the Gleaners Food Bank. We would like to ask that anyone attending the November and/or December meeting to bring at least 5 unopened, unexpired, non-perishable food items to be donated.
About Gleaners Food Bank For more than 33 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "nourishing communities by feeding hungry people.” Last year, Gleaners distributed 40 million pounds of emergency food to over 552 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 96 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor. Learn more about Gleaners →
