Mission Statement:

To give entrepreneurs alternatives for life preparation and life-long learning by developing and implementing initiatives and educational campaigns to awaken and nurture their entrepreneur spirit.

History

In 2007, the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce developed its educational support component, the Regional Hispanic Institute (RHI). As a 501c-3 tax-exempt organization, the RHI is able to provide its community with educational opportunities that is illustrated in its mission. The RHI stands as one preeminent organizations of leaders  in Califiornia.

Since its inception, the RHI's guiding precept and goal was to galvanize and unify the ever- growing community of Latino Leaders in California. The RHI also seeks to harness the skills, education and resources of Latino Leaders to assist the next generation of leaders.

What We Do

RHI offers a wide variety of resources to its members such as monthly networking meetings with major corporations, scholarship opportunities from educational partners such as California State  University and Long Beach City College as well as access to employment opportunities throughout the country. As we continue our work to increase the visibility of Latinos and promote an image of diverse professionalism, it's encouraging to see the economic, political, educational and social contributions of Latinos being recognized in Southern California and across the nation.

Programs:

Regional Executive Internship Program (REIP)

The RHI partnered with California State University, Long Beach's Business Department to support the Hispanic Students Business Association and to Mentor future leaders. Since then the program has expanded and opened its door to surrounding colleges and universities. Through the REIP the RHI mentors and supports students pursuing their dreams & discovering professional opportunities in this economy.

Every year the REIP accepts (5) college students during the summer to the fall to participate in a rigorous internship program that teaches them valuable real-world experiences and skill sets. Those skills learned are then applied in the coordination of two events at the end of the year: the Southern California Business Development Conference and the Mujeres de Año Gala. With very successful achievement the Executive Interns propel their young careers.

Regional Hispanic Leadership Council  (RHLC)

  • Mission Statement:

To engage young professionals in the development of their communities and economy by applying education, experience, and resources for professional growth.

  • History

In 2010, the RHI realized the a need for organization to bridge the gap between young professionals' college and a professional careers. The paramount idea is to groom young professionals through the REIP and transition to the RHLC where they further their skills. The RHLC will be instrumental for near graduating scholars through their first few years of their professional careers.
