Mud & Blood + The Roadhouse Cabaret
Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 7:30 PM - Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 12:15 AM (PDT)
*** THIS SHOW IS CANCELLED ***
I received news this morning that Mud&Blood + The Roadhouse Cabaret needs to be canceled. The venue misrepresented their relationship with their landlord and neighbors, and was not in a position to host an event like this. They received a cease and desist order this morning (5/11), specificlly about this event. If we were to throw the event, the police would have come and shut it down. While that might have lent some credibility to the Speakeasy theme, I believe it would have been a poor result overall.
What Happens Now?
First thing, don't go to the space tonight. There is no event. No one will be there to greet you and tell you you stories.
Second, you will be receiving a full refund all the money you paid, tickets and fees. The process in EventBrite to refund your ticket is laborious, and once it happens it will take 5-7 days for the money to be shown in your bank account. I will be refunding all of your money today, then it will take EventBrite a few days to get it into your account. Here is more information on that process: http://help.eventbrite.com/customer/portal/articles/426148-refund-an-order
Finally, we sold over $3,000 in tickets and had many more who were going to buy at the door. The performers put tons of work and energy into this, and volunteers gathered to create a mystical underground space. This shows that people were inspired by this bill, this combination of performers. I really feel for everyone, guests, fans, friends, performers, who canceled plans to come tonight. Let me make it up to you.
Let me to find a home for this event where it can go off without a hitch. We will be searching for the right venue and book something soon. Please keep a lookout for an email about these developments.
This show was so dangerous, they didn't want you to see it.
Thank you for your patience,
