For our ninth year, Mountains Restoration Trust is hosting its Rattlesnake Avoidance Clinic! The clinics are fundraisers for MRT, a nonprofit preserving wildlands in the Santa Monica Mountains. Funds raised support our programs including trails, parkland and educational work. Thank you for your support, and for telling your friends and other dog lovers about the clinic! PROTECT YOUR DOG!
Do you and your dog enjoy walks, or going on hikes together? Do you live in a rural area or near a canyon? Poisonous snakes bite about 15,000 dogs each year. In Southern California the danger is year-round. Bites can be fatal, and treatment can cost thousands of dollars. By completing a 20 minute, one-on-one training session, your dog could be saved from unnecessary suffering.
The MRT 2013 Rattlesnake Avoidance Training Clinic for Dogs is led by expert Tracy Jenson-Presson of High on Kennels located in San Diego County. Tracy has many years of experience training dogs to avoid rattlesnakes. She is well known for being a problem solver when it comes to difficult dogs.
Our training clinics are conducted in a safe, humane, controlled environment ensuring the safety of your dog, as well as the safety of the rattlesnakes. The training process is repeated several times to assure that your dog will understand the sight, smell and sound of a rattlesnake (they have a distinctive odor that dogs can discern from other snakes).
Please allow about an hour for your session, which includes check-in, training, and check-out. This assures that proper attention is given to all dogs. (Typically, training itself for one dog takes about 20 minutes.)
Space is limited! Advanced payment of $70 per dog is required. You'll receive an email confirmation of your order. No refunds will be issued for cancellation received within one week of the event. A $7 change fee will be applied to any time or date changes in your reservation.
Time slot: Please note training takes more than the 10-mt block you registered for. The 10-mt reservation is for purpose establishing a sequence of order rather than a set start time. Please allow an hour for the check-in, training and check-out. No need to be more than five minutes early as we tend to run late. Appts are given between 8 am and 5 pm.
Automated Regstration & Multiple Dogs
Thank you for your patience with this automated registration system. We're a nonprofit, and it cuts down on our costs. To register, you'll be required to enter your name, email, phone and mailing address. Credit cards are processed through PayPal; checks are also accepted through Paypal.
A registration is for one dog. If you're registering more than one dog, and need to complete more than one registration, you may want to create an EventBrite account. (When you're registering your first dog, enter a password to create the account.) You also can create a PayPal account to facilitate paying for your different registrations. If you're registering 3 or more dogs, you can contact us, and we'll be glad to help you find a time block for 3 or more dogs.
