Motown Monday with Ne-Yo at Ginny's
Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM (EDT)
New York, United States
He’s helped Rihanna, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Justin Bieber with their chart-topping hits, which means everything that this singer, songwriter, producer and actor touches turns to gold. But before Compound Entertainment and Motown Recording Artist Ne-Yo continues his takeover of the music world, he’s taking over the mic at Ginny’s on June 11th for a very special Motown Monday. Ne-Yo will introduce Elijah Kelley, a talented performer who starred with Ne-Yo in the George Lucas hit film Red Tails and performed the title track. Name still sound familiar? Kelley also co-starred and sang in the film adaptation of Hairspray alongside John Travolta, Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Doors to Ginny’s Supper Club open at 7pm with DJ Mos at the turntables, giving you plenty of time to drink a Diablo, Harlem Mule or Smokey Apple cocktail (or all three!) and nibble on Artichoke Croquettes and Mushroom Dumplings and share the Lamb Shank or Brandt Ribeye. Kevin Ross (already a Ginny’s favorite) will open the show singing Motown classics and original songs followed by Ne-Yo’s introduction of Elijah Kelley. And to get you excited and in the mood, click here to listen to Ne-Yo’s latest single “Lazy Love” from his upcoming album, R.E.D., which hits stores September 18th.

When & Where
Ginny's Supper Club
Wander downstairs at the Red Rooster Harlem and you’ll soon pick up the trail of its spirited sister venue. With a hat tipped to Harlem’s Renaissance, Ginny’s Supper Club is a modern reincarnation of the glamorous speakeasies and Harlem nights of the Twenties – an intimate lounge with a warm bourbon glow and an even warmer welcome.
Kindled by the hottest live music, creative cocktails, soulful food, inclusive spirit and Harlem’s vibrant culture, Ginny’s is devoted to hosting nights out with a little bit of magic. And, as its creators chef Marcus Samuelsson and Andrew Chapman will tell you, that means style, culture and genuine down home fun for everyone.
