Morning Ragas Concert
Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 7:15 AM to 10:15 AM (PST)
Dear Music Lovers and Rasikas,
I am so excited to be able to invite you to an inspirational morning of music concert by the virtuoso, Shri Nachiketa (Sharma) Yakkundi accompanied by accomplished artists: Shri Ravi Gutala on the Tabla and Shri Vivek Datar on the Harmonium. We are really very fortunate to have such accomplished stalwarts amongst us in the bay area!
All of us have enjoyed listening to traditional ragas, or melodic scales, that are meant for certain times of year — like the monsoon season, or spring — and also other ragas that are only played at certain times of day or night.
The Early morning has a certain freshness that Dawn brings with it, and also a bit of sleepiness. Ragas sung in the early morning are said to have a deep meditative quality elevating you to a higher spiritual plane and infuse the air with a gentle peace and serenity that we all need to begin the day.
Please join us for a rare opportunity to listen to some morning ragas at our home on Feb 24th at 7:15am, and experience the magical moments of an early morning sadhana.
Concert will begin promptly at 7:30am and Breakfast will be served after the concert.
Requesting RSVPs (getting the tickets) by Sunday Feb 16th would be highly appreciated, and would help us get an accurate headcount for breakfast and plan for event better
