Modern Quilting: Free Piecing Techniques
Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (EDT)
No patterns? No templates? No problem! In this workshop, modern quilter and blogger Nicole Neblett of Mama Love Quilts teaches three free-piecing techniques used in making modern improvisational quilts. We'll cover the paper bag technique made popular by Denyse Schmidt and two paneling techniques. Practicing these techniques will give you a chance to trust your creative instricts. Free-piecing techniques are great scrap busters, so bring your scraps and a willingness to let go!
Students will practice these techniques to create blocks that can be incorporated into larger projects or finished outside of class time as mini quilts.
Spoonflower will provide scrap fabric for practicing, but please see the complete supply list and pre-cutting instructions here.
In order to purchase these tickets in installments, you'll need an Eventbrite account. Log in or sign up for a free account to continue.
