Take your first step on the road to becoming a mobile mogul. This workshop will provide a complete overview of the basics of designing for mobile experiences. We'll begin with the current state of the mobile landscape, the devices for which we design products and services, and their constraints and capabilities. Next we examine various aspects of the user experience that designers need to consider, such as the content and context of the experience, the purpose of the design, the environment, and the cultural and/or social context. We will also cover the factors that influence the interface design itself, from ergonomics and usability to interaction and visual design. Finally, building on the previous topics, participants will have a chance to devise a mobile user experience that takes all of these considerations into account.
