Live performance and radio broadcast from the Octopus studio space in Barrow Park.
As part of our 2012 residency programme we are hosting Knut Aufermann’s and Sarah Washington's Mobile Radio project. Established as a travelling project across Europe, Mobile Radio works at media and art festivals, conferences, universities and one-off events to seek out new forms of radio by taking radio production out of the studio environment. Knut and Sarah will be working in and around Barrow Park and Octopus' Piel View House Studio building to develop a new piece of work that will be performed and broadcast live during a public event on 30 June 2012 at Piel View House.
In addition to the live performance there will be a workshop for hacking and performing with analogue radios from 10am to 5pm. Workshop participants will need to bring their own battery operated FM radio.

When & Where
Octopus are a sound art and new music organisation based in Cumbria and the producers of the bi-annual Full of Noises Festival. The festival attracts a national audience to an isolated area of the UK and provides a platform for collaboration, discussion and development between artists from different countries and levels of experience.
In parallel with the festival, Octopus runs an annual residency programme for artists to research and develop new work from its studio building in Barrow Park. Previous artists in residence have included AGF (Finland), Hildur Gudnadottir (Iceland), Tetsuo Kogawa (Japan) and Philip Jeck (UK).
