Want to help recruit your friends or fellow Obama, Democratic and Progressive supporters to attend the #MLKDREAM50 March & Closing Ceremony with Presidents Obama, Clinton and Carter on Wednesday?
Network for Progress is hosting a get together on Monday night where we can designate a time for social networking so we can bring an even bigger posse to commemoriate the "I Have A Dream" speech and call again for PROGRESS on Jobs & Freedom for all Americans.
Since people will have to leave work early and the speeches haven't been as publicized as we might have expected, your outreach could be a big help to ensuring the audience for this event matches the scale of the moment.
"SMART" PHONE BANK: We're going to focus on reaching out to our personal and activist networks, so bring your charged cell phone or laptop (outlets are available if you need them) and your own "call list" if you can so you have a game plan on who you want to target via call, text, facebook, tweet etc. Otherwise, there are plenty of members in our N4P community we can set you up to follow up with too!
SIGN MAKING PARTY: If you're more artsy or want to diversify then BYOS (Bring Your Own Sign) or let us know if you can bring enough for others to make! We will supply some markers.
And what better venue than the MLK Library? As you may know, they just renovated and the new "Digital Commons" is a great space for using free computers and wifi-enabled meeting rooms so it will be our first time to try it out!
On that note, since this is a new location for us be aware that we might have late updates as we have reserved a room online but it is technically "pending" until i get a confirmation on Monday. If there's a problem we can migrate to the large lobby at the Renaissance Hotel nearby but we will email everyone who rsvp'd before 5pm with details about any changes.

*ABOUT NETWORK FOR PROGRESS
As of February 10, 2011, the fourth anniversary of the Obama For America campaign, Network For Progress will serve as an interactive and creative online/offline political, civic, professional and personally-enriching Community, Advocate & Resource for the lessons of the "Yes We Can" Movement of Hope and Change to expand on the work of Organizing For America with the Mainstream Majority of Americans (including Democrats, Progressives, Independents, Republicans and those in between comprising young people and many other under-served constituencies) that voted for President Obama in 2008.
Network For Progress will promote the use of 21st Century “bottom up” Communication, Outreach & Leadership/Development grassroots-organizing techniques for an honest dialogue to create the necessary Personal Relationships & Viral Buzz to build a Movement that is continually being revolutionized by the growth of Google, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other networking tools but was under-utilized after Inauguration Day when the social, social media & Media vacuum of public discourse was filled by Tea Party/Fox News’ coordinated activism and only recently has been valiantly promoted by Jon Stewart’s quest for “Sanity.”
Network For Progress will provide a platform for supporters to become OUR own “Obama” who is empowered to bring PROGRESS to our professional and personal lives as well as our town, our state, our nation and our world.
“Network For Hope. Network For Change. Network For PROGRESS.”
