Event Details

Join Habitat in "BUILDING A Stronger Community Through Service"

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh is pleased to host its 2nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on January 21st, 2013. Join us as we make this another "day on" not a day off.

In January 2012, HFHGP engaged nearly 275 volunteers on several service projects. This year, we will be engaging over 500 volunteers at 25 different service projects.

Above you will see what projects you can register for. Volunteers are expected to meet at Braddock Community Center in the morning at 8:30 for breakfast, t-shirts, registration, orientation and opening ceremony. You will then travel to your service site. After your service, you will head back to Braddock around 1:30PM for lunch and closing ceremony.

Agenda

8:00-8:45 - Registration, T-shirts, Breakfast in Braddock Community Center

8:45-9:00 - Opening ceremony, orientation

9:00- Dismissal, travel to service sites

9:30-1:15 - Service activities

1:15-1:30 - Reflection at service site

1:30Travel back to Braddock Community Center

2:00 - 2:45 - Lunch catered by Chef Kevin Sousa (Union Pig & Chicken)

2:45-3:15 - Closing ceremony, speakers, reflection, dismissal of the day


*Every volunteer must register individually (i.e. the Wilson family of 4 must register each family member)
