Event Details

Get ready! It's almost time for Michigan Technology Network's Renewable Energy Event on September 26th, 2013.

Tour one of Michigan's largest solar panel arrays, and learn more about the technology behind these 432 photo voltaic panels that provide clean, renewable energy to the Lansing community. Also, learn about BWL residential and business programs that can help you save money and get free cash incentives.

Speakers include Engineers from BWL, and Sean Huberty - Lead Faculty Alternative Energy Engineering Technologies at Lansing Community College. BWL experts will talk about what it takes to own a solar array that is capable of powering 50 homes. Clean water is also important to BWL, they provide award-winning drinking water to the greater Lansing area. Sean Huberty will be there to lend his expertise on renewable energy. He is very passionate about renewable energy and even has a solar lawn mower.

There will also be a cool and innovative Tailgate Party! Solar Gate Universe will be at the event serving food and beverages with a solar powered tailgate party. Founders of the company Victoria Baldino, Mario Baldino, Rod Baum and Kollette Bordeaux-Baum, have designed a way to keep an outdoor party going powered by the sun. Their design is capable of powering TV's, a slow cooker, game console and much more. On a sunny day this set up will run for 10 hours plus. Learn how solar power can be an efficient way to keep the party going.
