Thousands of Minnesotans - including families of firefighters who died in the line of duty, firefighters from around the state, community leaders and the public - will gather at the Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Ceremonies will be held at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial, dedicated in 2012 to pay honor and respect to the 217 Minnesota firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
During the Memorial Service, families of fallen firefighters who haven’t yet been honored in a public ceremony will receive a Minnesota State flag that has been flown over the State Capitol.
Join us prior to the Memorial Service for morning prayers, reading of the honor roll, arrival of families, and the ringing of bells across the state in honor of fallen firefighters.
Firefighters from across the state are expected to attend in order to show support for their fallen colleagues and the families they left behind.
