Panel Moderator:

Lisa Kangas, Ph.D., is the Director of Academic Affairs for the University of Phoenix, Minneapolis/St Paul campus. Lisa is also an associate faculty and doctoral dissertation chair for the University of Phoenix. Lisa earned her BA in Communications from the University of Minnesota, MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and her PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. Lisa is the co-author of The Refractive Thinker VOL I: An Anthology of Higher Learning and The Refractive Thinker VOL III: Change Management and has published a variety of articles in The Journal of Leadership Studies.

Networking Panel:

Beth Neu is the Director of the Twin Cities Region for the Performance Excellence Network.  The Network (formerly the Minnesota Council for Quality) is a 26 year old non-profit committed to helping organizations improve their performance through the power of its network.   Beth has worked in the non-profit sector for 20 years both as staff and as a volunteer. Her role as Director includes consulting with organizations who desire to improve their outcomes using the Baldrige framework for performance excellence.   In addition to supporting the needs of PEN members in the Twin Cities, Beth is responsible for grant writing, managing social media, webinar creation, educational programming and volunteer management. Beth holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Human Resources Management from St. Mary’s University, Minnesota.

Cheri Charboneau is part of Workforce Solutions Midwest Advisor-National Accounts, and works to cultivate relationships with the top organizations in the Twin Cities. She advocates for the companies she serves and aligns University of Phoenix and Apollo resources to meet the needs of her clients. Cheri is passionate about building relationships with authenticity and retaining strategic long term partnerships; utilizing both internal and external resources to help bridge the skills gaps within Midwest organizations. Cheri's professional experiences include: Event Planning, Public Relations, Sales, Management, Leadership, and Customer Care. Flying the friendly skies for 8 years developed her problem solving and critical thinking skills. Cheri is an active member of Society for Human Resource Management and the local Twin Cities chapter. She has been on the Steering Committee for the Regions Hospital Foundation for the past four years. She also has a passion for cooking and instructed community Education cooking classes. Her personal Goals for 2013 are to dine in Paris Fall 2013 and run a half marathon in 2014.

David Milton, CPA, CM&AA is Vice President of Finance for Goodwill Easter Seals of MN.  Previously, he has served as interim-Chief Financial Officer for a number of established and startup companies in the green energy, environmental, manufacturing and service industries.  He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, valuation, strategy, financial modeling, raising capital and corporate governance.  He has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience with blue-chip companies such as Cargill, Johnson Controls and Amoco Corporation (now BP).  He has established and negotiated all forms of startups, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures and strategic alliances across the Americas, Europe and Asia. He is an Associate Professor of Accounting, Finance and Economics in the University of Phoenix's MBA program.  David also serves as Board Treasurer for Mastery Charter Schools.  Originally from Chicago, he holds a CPA certification from the State of Illinois, is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Executive (Johnson Controls and Villanova University), and is a Certified Mergers and Acquisition Advisor.

Deb McMillan is the Director of Governmental Affairs; TwinWest Chamber of Commerce and has worked in the Chamber industry since May of 2000.  She began her Chamber career serving as President of the Waconia Chamber of Commerce for more than seven years. She was hired to lead the Chaska Area Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and subsequently led a task force to merge the Chaska, Chanhassen and Victoria Chambers of Commerce, forming the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce, which opened for business in January 2009.  She served as President of the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce until July of 2013 when she accepted a position as the Director of Government Affairs for the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce. Deb is a 2004 graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management and has served on the board of directors for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Metropolitan Coalition of Chambers of Commerce and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.  She served as chair of the board for MCCE in 2007 and chair of the board for MCCC in 2005.  She is currently serving on the board of the Mid-America Chamber Executives group, a professional development organization that serves 7 states in the upper Midwest.
