Minimalism: Line, Shape, Form, Sound

An all day teen workshop with the Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Symphony

How can just one note, shape or color inspire a whole symphony or work of art? Join the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Art Museum in an all-day exploration of minimalist art and music. For teens ages 13-18.

When: Saturday, October 5, 2013, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Where: Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall

Who: Teens between the ages of 13-18. No music or visual art experience required.

Why: Learn about minimalism, create your own art, meet other creative teens and have FUN!

How it will work: 30 teens will be selected to participate in this in-depth workshop. Teens will arrive at the Seattle Art Museum for a quick orientation and then split into groups to start exploring the Vogel Collection and minimalism in music. Those teams will work together to create their own original art and music. The end of the day will culminate in a student performance featuring the music and art they created throughout the day.
