6:30pm - Doors Open
Happy Hour & Gourment Tacos from The Taco Project

The Taco Project will be in the house from 6:30pm onward and the first 75 people who arrive will get a FREE TACO!!

The Downtown Independent will be offering up some drink specials as well as microbrew draft beers. What better way to watch a movie on happiness than in a comfortable chair, sipping a cool drink?

Discussion: GDH? Measuring "Gross National Happiness"

Moran Cerf Ph.D. / Neuroscientist at Caltech, UCLA’s Department of Neurosurgery, and NYU

What are some o the factors that promote happiness? What are some of our biggest stressors? What's the current state of our understanding of how the brain perceives happiness? What people, places and organizations are on the cutting edge?

Moran is interested in attention, emotions regulations, and dreams. His set of studies include examining the conscious control of single neurons in humans, the ability to affect altered states of consciousness as dreams or sleep, and the ability of humans to regulate high-level emotions.

Screening Followed by Q&A with Director, Roko Belic

Roko Belic is an American film director, producer, cinematographer, and actor. His directorial debut, Genghis Blues (1999), was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary feature. Roko is a 1989 graduate of Evanston Township High School, Evanston, Illinois, and UC Santa Barbara.

Happy is a feature documentary film directed, written, and co-produced by Roko Belic. It explores human happiness through interviews with people from all walks of life in 14 different countries, weaving in the newest findings of positive psychology.
