The Chicago Public Schools' Office of Health and Wellness (OSHW) is undertaking a strategic planning process called "Minds in Motion" in an effort to strengthen the physical education programming that all students receive. Over 250 parents, teachers, principals, students, partners, and higher education professionals participated in the initial round of Minds in Motion stakeholder engagement forums. Thank you so much to all who participated, your voices were heard!
Twenty-eight themes emerged out of the data we collected at the stakeholder forums. Stakeholders were invited to vote on the themes that are the highest priority through an online survey. Several draft goals and recommendations were crafted from this data and supported by a review of the research.
Now, through a second round of forums, we are circling back to our stakeholder groups to get feedback on these draft goals which will become the basis of our plan. We will use the feedback to make revisions and edits to the plan before it is sent before the Board of Education in June. Your input and thoughtful participation is greatly important and appreciated!
