MILES for AUTISM
Did you know that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention just released a study in March 2014 confirming that the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder is at a staggering all-time high of 1 in 68 children?
Five years ago, the statistic was 1 in 150 children - that's a 78% increase!
I ran my first Marathon in 2012 for my nephew Christopher who has Autism. While Gencie has always supported my cause, she became inspired to do something for Autism as well. While talking to church members, co-workers and friends at the health club about her desire to raise funds for Autism research, she found out they also had children with Autism.
Therefore this year we have decided to team up to raise money for OAR, Organization for Autism. We have put together a Vitual 5K Run/Walk. It's as simple as 1, 2, 3.
1. You can run anywhere, anytime, and any place you'd like....or you can run with us. The date, time and location for our runs will be posted on our FaceBook event page.
2. We want you to post a picture.
3. You will recieve a medal in the mail. Check out the BLING and the top of the page. This spinning Autism medal is a must have!!!
Thank you so much for your support!!
