Micro Inequities: The Power of Nothing This work session explores the impact of the small annoying things that people do that when asked about the appropriateness of the comment, joke or look will be met with the response, “that was nothing”. The more those “nothings” are give the more difficult it becomes to create an atmosphere of respect and effectiveness. We will explore the impact of micro aggressions, micro inequity and tools for establishing macro empowerment. Objectives: ● Learn information that analyzes stereotypes and prejudice. ● Understand the historical context of present day prejudice and inequities. ● Explore the impact of Micro Inequities on discretionary effort. Envision a society in which Micro Inequities do not exist. ● identify personal actions to address Micro Inequities. Session time: 90 minutes *. If you want a certificate for CEU's for this course you may see instructor to receive a certificate for an additional $10 fee.

Who is Andre Koen?
Andre Koen is an energetic presenter, a powerful communicator, and a dynamic teacher. There are many words that describe him. The most illustrative is, “Andre, the Enkindled Spirit”. Andre is a diversity trainer in Minnesota. He provides face-to-face and online courses on diversity education including leadership development, empowerment training, cross-cultural competence, sensitivity training, anti-racism training and team building.

Most of his clients include professionals needing continuing education credits. As the Chief Facilitiator for he has taken his training to a global market and provides training for groups and individuals from wide range of cultures. His weekly blog includes ideas for controlling, removing, and fighting discrimination. Koen also offers one-on-one training and coaching. 

Many of our courses have been pre­approved for Continuing Education Credits, Continuing Legal Education Credits, Minnesota Board of Social Work Credits as well as the Minnesota Peace Officer’s Standards and Training Credits. Certificates are availible for submission to your local licensing organization.
