Songs of Faith and Family
by Michele Baer
A Benefit Fundraiser Event at Clearview Cultural Center
Join us for a night filled with a powerful blend of well-known tunes and original compositions performed in Michele Baer’s moving, richly melodious style. Michele’s own lyrics, which convey her deep faith and profound love of family, serve to unify and enrich the overall message; and her music, expertly arranged by Greg Hansen and Richard Talbot, becomes the perfect medium for delivering that message.
With her rich, mature tonal quality, captivating melodies, and her messages of faith and family, Michele Wood Baer intrigues and inspires audiences of all ages and religious backgrounds. Evidence of her excellence and the power of her music come in many forms—from numerous roles as a soloist and in musical theatre to titles she has won in musical competitions, successful sales of her first CD, and glowing accolades from polished musicians and teenage audiences alike
With her inspiring music, Michele Baer expresses her passion for freedom and her faith in God in her new CD, "To God and Country." Michele, who has released three other CDs-"Out of the Dust," "Never Give Up" and "You're Worth it All"-says, "I hadn't intended to do another album."
"But, I'm passionate about our country," she explains and adds, "I've been so impressed with people who are trying to make a difference and return our country to the principles it was founded upon." In particular, Michele sees a great need for the unifying power that comes from focusing on the spiritual foundations of the nation.
"The country doesn't give us rights; we have God-given rights," she says.
Michele, whose voice has been compared to Karen Carpenter's has performed in musical theater and benefit concerts in four states, composed music for youth conferences and directed high school and children's choirs.
From singing at various Tea Party events, Michele saw there was a great deal of interest and support for a CD of patriotic and inspirational music. She compiled the songs and produced the album with the help of Richard Talbot. She says, "The CD combines five of the most basic patriotic songs, including God Bless America, America the Beautiful and The Star Spangled Banner, along with religious songs, like Amazing Grace, that people of any faith would embrace. Most of the songs on the album people know."
"To God and Country" was introduced at Glenn Beck's Restoring Love event in Dallas in July, where Michele sang two of the album selections, a patriotic song in the morning and an inspirational song later in the day.
She says, at the event, "You could feel a spirit of patriotism, but, you could also feel the power of the righteous people in the country, people of every faith, who were standing together for principles of faith."
"I believe the Lord uses you as an instrument, and I hope my voice will inspire and bring back in people a desire to do even simple things like to vote, support good organizations and be less apathetic. That is my real passion," she says. "I want to use my voice to uplift and inspire._"
She will be performing with 3 of her 6 children for this Benefit Fundraiser. It's going to be not only a night of powerful songs of faith, but of family and fun!
