The Grand Finale of the Metro Chamber Orchestra's Thirteenth Season is its first "Pops" concert. Joining Maestro Nuzzo and the MCO are two of America's youngest and most dynamic performers in their fields.
The brilliant internationally lauded crossover cellist Eru Matsumoto joins the MCO in Gulda's Concerto for Cello and Big Band. This rousing work is just what it says and great duet between the classical cello and the Jazz Big Band. Its spectacular March finale is a bravura tour de force.
Jennifer Sheehan has taken her place as the heiress to the special cabaret tradition of the Great American Songbook. Acclaimed by critics, including the NY Times, Ms Sheehan joins the MCO in songs by Gershwin, Kern and Porter and a few surprises.
The perfect date for a Friday evening and a special way to end a great season.
When & Where
Metro Chamber Orchestra
Now in its Fourteenth Season, Metro Chamber Orchestra is the only professional performing chamber orchestra performing solely in Brooklyn; America’s fourth largest city. It has developed into one of New York City's finest musical ensembles. Established in 2002 by Artistic Director Philip Nuzzo, MCO is comprised of some of New York City's best freelance musicians, many of whom are veterans of the New York Philharmonic, The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and major Broadway musical productions.
In 2010 the Metro Chamber Orchestra took up permanent residence in Brooklyn and is an active part of the “Brooklyn Renaissance”.
