Phoenix’s Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, is a 600-acre park along the historic Salt River. Located less then two miles from downtown Phoenix, the Center is a gateway to a lush Sonoran riparian habitat used by over 200 species of birds and other wildlife—beavers, muskrats, coyotes, jackrabbits, cottontails, and javelinas—to name a few.
Join SCA and fellow Southwest Airlines employees, friends and family for a morning of volunteer service. Connect with the community, give back and enjoy the opportunity to restore and beautify the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.
When: February 20, 2014. 9am to 12pm. Please plan to arrive at 8:45am to register. Projects will start promptly at 9am.
Where: Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, 2875 S. 7th St. Phoenix, 85040. Park and meet near the Lower Senoran Mesquite Habitat off of 7th Street. Park Map
What: Volunteers will work on habitat restoration.
What to Bring: Participants must wear long pants and closed toed shoes and long sleeved shirts. Water and snacks will be provided.
