Meshes allow construction of complex geometries and algorithmic smoothing and thickening; all great techniques, especially for 3D printing. It is also imperative to understand mesh topologies in order to work with simulations in Kangaroo. However, Rhino’s mesh capabilities are limited in comparison to other modeling software. Grasshopper, along with several plugins, remedies Rhino’s shortcomings with added functionality. This workshop will focus on generation, editing, and subdivision of complex mesh geometries using various Grasshopper plug-ins, including Weaverbird, MeshEdit, and Starling.
