-Submit five double-spaced pages as a foundation for discussion. They can be the first pages from a short story or a novel.
-The techniques taught are applicable to both fiction and nonfiction storytelling.
-In-class practice will focus on characterization and plotting principles that are most effective for today's audiences.
• Due One Week Before the First Meeting Date
-You five double-spaced pages, a SCOOP-IT-UP Worksheet, and a Character Chart on the Main Character
-For forms and submission guidelines, go to the North Texas Christian Writers website page under Events and select the Mentoring Clinic with Frank Ball.
• Required by the Time You Arrive at the Clinic
-Eagerness to learn and help other writers.
-A laptop computer and thumb drive, so you can write and share your work.
-Read submissions from all the students
-Watch the movie The Ultimate Gift and complete the worksheet
• Available After the Clinic
-Online connection with other clinic members.
-Professional critique of five more double-spaced pages.
