The June event is FULL--but please add your child's name to the WAIT LIST! It's very possible you will get an email before long with a registration link to be added to the guest list. In the meantime, make a note: online registration for JULY Thursday 11:15 storytimes begins June 19.
Toddler Storytime (ages 2-3)
Thursdays at 11:15am
Stories & songs for toddlers and their caregivers to enjoy together! Listen along, clap along, sing along with a half-hour of early learning fun, and then talk about it together throughout the day!
This registration covers all of our Thursday sessions in JUNE.
Sign up CHILD, but NOT ADULT. Each ticket admits ONE child, plus their attending adult.
If you miss two Thursdays without first contacting us, you will be removed from the guest list.
Please observe our Storytime Guidelines:
- Chairs are reserved for people with special needs. Please sit on the floor & participate with your child!
- If your child begins to cry, please take him or her out of the room. It’s okay to leave early for any reason.
- Please save your adult conversations & electronic devices for after storytime. Storytime is for the grown-ups, too!
- To clarify: no electronic devices. This is an adult-child activity.
- Sick? Please stay home!
Some Benefits of Toddler Storytimes
Demonstrates that books & reading are fun
Familiarizes children with books and the library
Develops listening skills
Fosters pre-reading skills
Provides socialization with other children
Provides a fun bonding activity between children & their grown-ups
How to Get the Most Out of Storytime:
PARTICIPATE! Sit with your children, interact with them, help them notice details in the stories, and model the songs & fingerplays.
PRACTICE GOOD STORYTIME ETIQUETTE. Please help us create a great storytime environment. Arrive early, silence & stow away electronic devices before the program starts, and save chat with other adults until after the program is over. Quiet unhappy children away from the storytime area; it’s fine to leave quietly & try again next time!
EXTEND THE EXPERIENCE! Stay at the library a while and read aloud to your child, discussing the action on the pages as you along. Check out a few books, perhaps even books like the ones shared at storytime. Talk about books & storytime together throughout the week, and sing the songs. You’ll be raising a reader!
