Event Details

If you you would like to attend MEND 7-13 Mind and Nutrition Training on these days, dates and times, please read the instructions below.

MEND 7-13 is a fun, effective and practical lifestyle solution focused on families with overweight or obese children. The key to its success is an integrated approach, combining all of the elements known to both treat obesity effectively and ensure long lasting results.

MEND 7-13 is comprised of 20 sessions that take place over 10 weeks. The training will take participants through the structure of the Program for the Nutrition and Mind Sessions as well as instruction around the measurements required for program monitoring and evaluation.

There is also a separate day of training for MEND Physical Activity Leaders on conducting the exercise component of MEND 7-13Physical Activity Leaders MUST attend all three MEND 7-13 training daysMEND Mind and Nutrition Leaders are strongly advised to participate in MEND physical activity training; however this is not mandatory.

Please be aware that you will be asked to complete an assessment upon completion of the MEND 7-13 Mind and Nutrition Training, or if you are an Physical Activity Leader, at the end of exercise training. The pass rate is 70%.  If you do not attend the exercise training, please note this at the top of your assessment form. If you require any further information about MEND, please visit  www.mendfoundation.org/. 

We would like each person attending the training to come with a few thoughts on the questions posed below. These will be discussed during the training.

  • How should we tackle child obesity in the community?
  • What is being done to tackle child obesity in your area?
  • Who needs to be involved?

Attendees need to wear comfortable clothing for the theory based training.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.


Please confirm with your local Program Manager that you are required to attend this training. Please also check that you are able to attend training dates BEFORE booking as the following cancellation fees apply:

  • More than 6 weeks - no charge.
  • 4-6 weeks - $50 fee per person.
  • 1-3 weeks - $100 fee per person.
  • Less than 1 week - $150 fee per person.
  • A $50 administration fee will also be charged per person


This course will only run subject to the minimum number of people attending. Failure to reach this number may result in this training being cancelled.
