On April 21st, 2013, The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay awill present their annual Take Back the Night: Together We Empower event in collaboration with the Sexual Violence Task Force of Tampa Bay and over 85 agencies, companies and organizations.
This interactive event creates awareness, empowers survivors, and educates the community about sexual violence. Together we empower survivors, celebrate freedom and embrace resiliency.
We are calling upon the men and women in our community to stand together as allies against sexual and domestic violence by inviting volunteers to join the Men Stopping Violence Against Women Safety Team. By joining this team, men will assist in creating a safe and protected area by escorting participants throughout downtown Tampa to and from their vehicles.
This event will take place in Curtis Hixon Park, from approximately 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. We appreciate all that you do, and together we can empower survivors throughout their journey towards healing!
The Safety Team Orientation will be scheduled for in the Month of April. Individuals who register for this important volunteer position should provide a referance and may be requested to partake in a background check.
